CSSM's Social
Running Group -
For Fun, Fitness and Coffee.

Looking for motivation to get your legs pumping? Wanting to improve your running ability? Looking for a challenge or training for an event? Or just want some company on your morning runs? Our runners group is for you!

Build speed, strength, endurance and fitness and improve your overall running technique. Perfect for getting training tips and education on preventing injuries whilst enjoying the company of others.

A social running group rather than a “club” – CSSM’s runners group is suitable for all ages and all running abilities. Whether you are just starting to get into running, are training for a half or full marathon, or just enjoy taking the legs for a spin, our group is for you! Run by our practitioner team, the sessions are suitable for everyone. We are a social group who enjoy the challenge of testing our limits while catching up on everyone’s progress!

What is involved?

The CSSM Run Club gathers once a week for a social run.  As running ability will vary between individuals, our focus during sessions is on building running economy, speed, endurance and overall fitness. This involves interval training, tempo runs, Fartlek training and running drills. The occasional hill session will also be included! We run on footpaths, tracks and ovals. We encourage our longer endurance runners to do their longer runs on other days of the week.

Is there a cost to be involved?

The annual membership for Social Runners is $52, with all proceeds going to charity.

100% of the proceeds from the Run Club memberships will be donated to the clinic’s preferred charity the Indigenous Marathon Foundation.

In addition to supporting a great charity, there are many other benefits to being part of Run Club, including:

  • A $50 CSSM gift voucher
  • 50% off a running gait analysis
  • 10% off a PilatesFIT 20-pack, plus a complimentary 30-minute private introduction to reformer Pilates for new patients
  • An exclusive CSSM drink bottle

Our Routes

Our runs are at local parks and running tracks around the Camberwell and Burwood area. Surfaces include footpaths, bike tracks, trails and ovals/grass.

The Distance

Runs in most sessions will range from 5km to 8km. However, because we will be mostly using looped courses sessions can be tailored to match your fitness levels.

Our Pace

We welcome runners of any pace and ability – the goal is to get out there and have fun. Need to stop and have a walk? No problem!

Our Running Group Size

We have no restrictions of numbers, anyone and everyone is welcome! We only ask that you book your spot in the upcoming session through either our Camberwell Sports and Spinal Medicine App or click here.

Will I be running on my own?

It is unusual to find yourself running on your own. Generally there will be someone running at your pace.  Most of the sessions will be in parks with looped courses, so there is usually someone not far away.  We look out for each other and are very supportive – with a leave no one behind policy.

Hamish Williams

Hamish Williams has always been interested in how the body works, sport and strength training. For him, Myotherapy was the perfect fit.

“It’s also a great combination of problem solving and working with people.”

Hamish has previously worked across a number of private practices as well as a variety of local sporting teams .

“I love the challenge of appropriately reintegrating people back into sport as fast as possible while minimising the risk of re-injury.”

A runner and footballer himself, Hamish enjoys helping others who have any niggles or injuries to modify their program to keep them moving.

“I enjoy empowering people with the information and the tools they need to manage their own health and get back to the things they love to do.”

Away from the clinic, Hamish enjoys music – as well as reading and strength training.
