Michelle Wigg

Cycling

Michelle is a passionate road cyclist, enjoying the sense of freedom cycling brings along with fitness benefits.

She has climbed Mt Buffalo, Tawonga Gap and Mt William and participated in the Amy Gillett Gran Fondo 120km event.

“The ability to experience rural communities on a bike is fantastic, and it is an activity that I feel is achievable and I can still build in at my age,” she says.

Osteoarthritis in both knees has recently impacted her ability to cycle and she is now undergoing the first of total knee replacements.

A fan of CSSM’s GLAD program and clinical pilates, Michelle has a rehab plan in place, and hopes to be able to participate in group riding events again as well as riding holidays through Europe.

Michelle has two adult children and has been a nurse for nearly 40 years currently working in anaesthetics/recovery in operating theatres.

The team at CSSM will be supporting Michelle in her rehab and hope to get her back on the bike soon!

Michelle's goal -

"To recover from a total knee replacement and get back riding again. A riding holiday through Europe is my goal!"

Taj Fox

Running

If you’re looking for Taj, chances are he’s out running!

Before covid, Taj had only ever run 5km but a 10km run with his mum sparked a passion for pounding the pavement, peaking with the Melbourne Half Marathon in October 2024 where Taj was consistently clocking up 80 km’s a week in training.

“I really enjoy the competitive part to running. I love being able to see the consistent progress of getting new PB’s on the track and roads where I am able to look back for years and see why I have kept running, bringing my parkrun time down from the very first one at 49:27 all the way down to 19:52 on Christmas Day just gone.”

Having just turned 18, Taj hopes to train consistently this year to work up to a full marathon while balancing the demands of year 12.

Running for Taj has always been a family affair, and now he

continues at Parkruns, volunteering to give back and get more people into running.

“I am one of the Run Directors at Gardiners Creek Parkrun. Over the last 2 years, I have tried to get more of my friends into running and Parkrun is always the first place that I take them to because of the welcoming environment. This is something that I love to see grow year on year.”

Taj has also set himself some hefty goals for 2025.

My current 10km PB is 42:56 – I really want to do much better there and break 42 minutes.

For the half marathon, my PB is 1:37:22 and I am aiming to break 1:35.

My final goal is to not burn out and keep it sustainable!

We are looking forward to seeing your progress this year Taj!

Misha Allinson

Misha Allinson

Triathlon

Misha began competing in triathlon at the age of 20, attracted by the endurance and grit it takes. Since then, he’s raced a number of half ironman and olympic distance races, along with just recently finishing his first full ironman!

“What I love most about triathlon is that on any given day you have to show up in three completely different disciplines, none of which I was particularly good at when I started! I also love the routine and discipline it takes. If I’m honest I am completely addicted to the training and the feeling of exhaustion and elation at the end of a long training day.”

If that’s not impressive enough, Misha is also finishing a medical degree and hopes to one day compete as a professional triathlete while balancing his medical career.

Misha qualified for the half ironman world championships in 2024 but wasn’t able to attend so he is hoping to represent Australia at the half and full ironman world championships in the future.

We look forward to seeing your progress this year Misha!

Misha's goal -

"To become a professional triathlete"
